Ever wondered if you are an intelligent person or a hard-working one? There's nothing wrong with being either of them. Let me tell you that an intelligent person in simple terms would mean a person who has the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. A diligent person would mean a hard worker. Now, which one are you? Are you the first one or the second one? Let’s analyze both and see which one we should be.
Intelligence can be put into numerous ways: the capacity for abstraction, logic, understanding, self-awareness, learning, reasoning, planning, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving etc. Sounds big I know. All of us would think, “ oh you are so lucky to have this much capacity! ”. Well let me tell you one thing, hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. What this means is if you do not put effort or don’t use your capacity, you cannot go further. So use what you have and make the most of it. I’m sure all of us would now have an idea of what an intelligent person is.
Diligence can be easily defined as putting effort. Basically a hard-working person. This might sound inferior compared to intelligence but NO! In no way is it inferior but at times can be superior. As said earlier, hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. If you are diligent then you are fully committed.
Now what are the chances of an intelligent worker beating a diligent worker?
Asking me I would say let’s try to be a brilliant worker. A person who not only puts effort but also makes use of his intelligence the right way. You are just making use of your intelligence to put in effort. For example, working 8 hours efficiently. Think again and even if you disagree with me let me know down below 👇
