CHANGES IN THE WORLD

Since, the newest iPhone 14 has been released and has been all over the internet for the past few days about how it has features like 4k recording and so on. This intrigued me to think how has humanity developed to this point. Earliest parts of human civilization started with the discovery of the wheel and now we evolved in numerous ways producing technology that was once perceived to be mere science fiction. When we think about our ancestors they would have definitely not thought about having to control the world in the palm of your hands. Recently, one of these new revolutionising technologies is genetic engineering more specially CRISPR CAS-9.  Humanity has been persistently growing and ramifying in this planet, however, getting affected by diseases severes a constraint to this growth leading to many humans not being able to achieve their full potential. Diseases can be of various sorts but more specifically genetically transmissible diseases are highly impairing. For instance, ...

The POWER of HABITS

Lately, I have been thinking about how some people in the world are proficient at various skills and have mastered them completely while others struggle to do simple things in day-to-day life. A most common narrative for success is you work hard continuously and someday you can reap the benefits. This is one of the most absurd things I have heard in my life. Does this mean, you will enjoy the benefits of your success when you are sixty years old and about to kick the bucket. I know that might sound harsh, but it is simply not it. Success is constituted by many factors like a good work ethic, deciphering your strengths and weaknesses, being lucidly aware of things you can do and not do and building useful habits that compound to produce herculean results(fancy word usage!). But this blog will talk about habits. When you look at all successful people like self-made billionaires, they all have robust habits that play a vital role in their success. For instance, Mark Cuban billionaire...

TRUE LOVE – A MYTH OR REALITY?

In my previous article, I talked about how love is beyond logic and it deserves our focus and attention throughout our life inevitably.  Now, I am beginning with a new topic directed towards Love and this time, it’s about first-love, soulmates, love at first sight and intriguing parts of life which endures our thirst for conversations and relationships which enables us to move forward in life and create a better version of us during the process. Why do people care for their first love or relationship so much more than their successors? Personally, first love is equivalent to any initial experience we have in our life such as, a picnic in a vibrant lakeside garden surrounded by family or your first ever thrilling adventure with friends. Our first love becomes extremely significant, memorable and impassioned as it teaches us how to love a person other than you are obliged to do, such as your parents or relatives. You display your complete passion for the person irrespective of thei...

INTO THE BOOK - " THE CATCHER IN THE RYE" by J.D. SALINGER

The Catcher in the Rye has been a recent read, making it to my top favourites. The Catcher in the Rye was first published on the 16th of July 1951, making it indispensable in 20th-century literature. The story involves the ideas of teenage rebellion and the pains of growing up, however, this book can connect with the readers regardless of the differences in the timeline.  The main protagonist Holden Caulfield who is also the narrator describes variegated events happening in his life taking place over two day period. Caulfield is sixteen years old and gets expelled from Pencey prep school in Agerstown, Pennsylvania. Implicit details for the character show that there is an abyss of sadness and constant changes in moods, at the end his feelings cause him to be in tears. There are numerous times in the book where Holden states that he is depressed proving the inner feelings that affect him. The character shows a lack of academic sincerity leading him to fail in classes and get expelled...

LOVE IS BEYOND LOGIC...

LOVE IS BEYOND LOGIC… Love is an intriguing theme discussed by us in our daily life. It is surrounded by us and waiting for people to approach us with their feelings to showcase their support in the form of only one global emotion – LOVE. It could be the love of our friends, family or partners who wish to get attached with us and make our days special and enduring through challenges.  Let’s address the elephant in this article, “ WHY IS LOVE BEYOND LOGIC?”. I am certain there are people who are completely unequivocal about love being “ just scientific and it’s all in our brain”. I agree there is a scientific explanation behind our lust, desire and attraction, but the intention to make others happy and content in all our relationships even through the hard times is beyond logic and pragmatism.  “Love is merely a flow of energy, it connects and transforms us according to our needs and stays in us throughout the function of our life. It can neither be created nor destroyed...

ITS THE JOURNEY THAT MATTERS!

Every individual is different, containing various skills and talents utilised for betterment. The essential factor that differentiates human beings is the experiences had in their lifetime. Individuals with more hardships and worst disappointments reach higher levels of success, for instance- Steve Jobs. You might think this is a radical claim. Let me explain! Success is a destination. The end product of but the process, making of the product is the journey, "Focus on the journey, not the destination" this quotation has been thrown around a lot lately and I completely agree with it.  The end product or the goal is what people desire and focus on.  But most of their time is spent on repetitive processes day in and day out with consistency. Perfecting every nuance along your journey takes you to success. Success is an endpoint it will be spoken from some time and eventually people will forget it, while the journey that you have been through where you have gained numerous e...

DILIGENCE OR INTELLIGENCE ?

Ever wondered if you are an intelligent person or a hard-working one? There's nothing wrong with being either of them. Let me tell you that an intelligent person in simple terms would mean a person who has the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. A diligent person would mean a hard worker. Now, which one are you? Are you the first one or the second one? Let’s analyze both and see which one we should be. Intelligence can be put into numerous ways : the capacity for abstraction, logic, understanding, self-awareness, learning, reasoning, planning, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving etc. Sounds big I know. All of us would think, “ oh you are so lucky to have this much capacity! ”. Well let me tell you one thing, hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. What this means is if you do not put effort or don’t use your capacity, you cannot go further. So use what you have and make the most of it. I’m sure all of us would now have an idea of what a...

MANY HAVE SIGHT BUT FEW HAVE VISION

“The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision”. This is an esteemed quote put across by Helen Keller who was an author and activist. But why was this quote put forward ? This line came up to open up the eyes of many people who were able to see but not imagine. Many of us are creative but are not able to display our creativity. Having a vision means having a clear sense of purpose. Vision further explains that we are having a larger picture of our plans and goals. Your vision helps define the goals by giving you a larger image and tells you what you are likely to achieve over a long period. Why is having a vision important ? A vision defines what your ultimate goal is. By visualizing what you are, you can proceed accordingly. Many people ask, where do you see yourself in the next 5 years or so? But why do they ask this? They ask this because they want to know your vision. They want to know what are your plans, goals and how are you going to achieve them. Man...

SPEND OR INVEST TIME ? YOU PICK

Spending and investing can be two words with very similar meanings at times. But the turn takes place when these two words are aligned with the aspect called time. Time is something we meet on a regular basis. Time is free but priceless. You can’t own it but you can use it. You can’t stop it but you can manage it. Leo Tolstoy once said, “ the two most powerful warriors are patience and time”. But the question arises to many of us that are we using our time the right way ? We all have the same 24 hours but it’s about how you utilize it. So should we spend our time or invest our time? You either waste, spend or invest time. So make your choice wisely. Spending your time on something means that you are using it but not looking to get anything back. On the other hand, investing refers to utilizing your time to grant you a meaningful benefit. You must’ve got the answer to the question I asked earlier on. Didn’t you? Many people think that investing only comes into context when we talk about...

MISTAKES REFINE YOU, NOT DEFINE YOU

“Mistake”. A word that often troubles us. It is an error made by us that produces an unwanted result. Mistakes could be of various kinds which range from several degrees; small to big. But why do we always keep thinking about it? Sometimes we know the right thing to do but go for the wrong thing. We call that a MISTAKE. Some of us are very excited about trying out new things and don’t know what the result would be. It might be a BAD one. Then that’s a MISTAKE. But what we don’t realize is that mistakes are one of our biggest teachers in life! John Bradshaw once said, “ It’s okay to make mistakes. Mistakes are our teachers - they help us to learn”. Mistakes come to teach you so that you learn from them and don’t repeat them in the future. When you make a mistake, there are only three things you should ever do about it: admit it, learn from it, and don’t repeat it. Many of us don’t accept defeats and get stuck in the same spot. But if you're doing that, let me tell you one thing. You...

TYPE OR WRITE ? YOU DECIDE

Typing and writing collectively have been 2 prominent mediums of human communication since the past decade or two. Typing has been recently introduced compared to writing, and has been able to attract millions of people to accept this new mode of communication. It's very familiar when we say texting, chatting, messaging etc because this all comes under the mode of typing. We are so used to it that we forget it has replaced the art of writing. Writing on the other hand comes more into picture when we refer to our notebooks and written-work. People used to converse more with written work like letters than as of today. But the question that arises is what is better, written or typed work? Well, this depends on what you are doing and how much effort you are ready to put. Studies have proven that when you write, you are able to develop a more conceptual understanding. There was a Psychological science research conducted by researcher Daniel Oppenheimer at the University of California w...
