The POWER of HABITS

Lately, I have been thinking about how some people in the world are proficient at various skills and have mastered them completely while others struggle to do simple things in day-to-day life. A most common narrative for success is you work hard continuously and someday you can reap the benefits. This is one of the most absurd things I have heard in my life. Does this mean, you will enjoy the benefits of your success when you are sixty years old and about to kick the bucket. I know that might sound harsh, but it is simply not it. Success is constituted by many factors like a good work ethic, deciphering your strengths and weaknesses, being lucidly aware of things you can do and not do and building useful habits that compound to produce herculean results(fancy word usage!). But this blog will talk about habits. When you look at all successful people like self-made billionaires, they all have robust habits that play a vital role in their success. For instance, Mark Cuban billionaire...

TRUE LOVE – A MYTH OR REALITY?

In my previous article, I talked about how love is beyond logic and it deserves our focus and attention throughout our life inevitably.  Now, I am beginning with a new topic directed towards Love and this time, it’s about first-love, soulmates, love at first sight and intriguing parts of life which endures our thirst for conversations and relationships which enables us to move forward in life and create a better version of us during the process. Why do people care for their first love or relationship so much more than their successors? Personally, first love is equivalent to any initial experience we have in our life such as, a picnic in a vibrant lakeside garden surrounded by family or your first ever thrilling adventure with friends. Our first love becomes extremely significant, memorable and impassioned as it teaches us how to love a person other than you are obliged to do, such as your parents or relatives. You display your complete passion for the person irrespective of thei...

INTO THE BOOK - " THE CATCHER IN THE RYE" by J.D. SALINGER

The Catcher in the Rye has been a recent read, making it to my top favourites. The Catcher in the Rye was first published on the 16th of July 1951, making it indispensable in 20th-century literature. The story involves the ideas of teenage rebellion and the pains of growing up, however, this book can connect with the readers regardless of the differences in the timeline.  The main protagonist Holden Caulfield who is also the narrator describes variegated events happening in his life taking place over two day period. Caulfield is sixteen years old and gets expelled from Pencey prep school in Agerstown, Pennsylvania. Implicit details for the character show that there is an abyss of sadness and constant changes in moods, at the end his feelings cause him to be in tears. There are numerous times in the book where Holden states that he is depressed proving the inner feelings that affect him. The character shows a lack of academic sincerity leading him to fail in classes and get expelled...

LOVE IS BEYOND LOGIC...

LOVE IS BEYOND LOGIC… Love is an intriguing theme discussed by us in our daily life. It is surrounded by us and waiting for people to approach us with their feelings to showcase their support in the form of only one global emotion – LOVE. It could be the love of our friends, family or partners who wish to get attached with us and make our days special and enduring through challenges.  Let’s address the elephant in this article, “ WHY IS LOVE BEYOND LOGIC?”. I am certain there are people who are completely unequivocal about love being “ just scientific and it’s all in our brain”. I agree there is a scientific explanation behind our lust, desire and attraction, but the intention to make others happy and content in all our relationships even through the hard times is beyond logic and pragmatism.  “Love is merely a flow of energy, it connects and transforms us according to our needs and stays in us throughout the function of our life. It can neither be created nor destroyed...

ITS THE JOURNEY THAT MATTERS!

Every individual is different, containing various skills and talents utilised for betterment. The essential factor that differentiates human beings is the experiences had in their lifetime. Individuals with more hardships and worst disappointments reach higher levels of success, for instance- Steve Jobs. You might think this is a radical claim. Let me explain! Success is a destination. The end product of but the process, making of the product is the journey, "Focus on the journey, not the destination" this quotation has been thrown around a lot lately and I completely agree with it.  The end product or the goal is what people desire and focus on.  But most of their time is spent on repetitive processes day in and day out with consistency. Perfecting every nuance along your journey takes you to success. Success is an endpoint it will be spoken from some time and eventually people will forget it, while the journey that you have been through where you have gained numerous e...

Here is a deep dive into brain-  The human brain is a very complex and essential organ of the human body as it contributes to most of the processes that take place to keep it functioning and strive in its environment.  The brain transport messages in a form of electrical impulses through neurons which are located all around the human body, neurons have the ability to communicate to other cells by synapses, during this process they diffuse chemical substances called neurotransmitters through the synaptic cleft present in the other cell. Neurons are in three types: sensory, relay and motor. Each type of neuron has its distinct function. Sensory neuron : converts the external stimuli found in the environment to internal electrical impulses such as heat, pain and so on(affector). LIVING IN THE FUTURE, ARE WE?

“YOU NEVER CHANGE THINGS BY FIGHTING THE EXISTING REALITY. TO CHANGE SOMETHING, YOU BUILD A NEW MODEL THAT MAKES THE EXISTING MODEL OBSOLETE” quoted by BUCKMINSTER FULLER . We are moving to a greater level of conscience with changes arousing exponentially around us and stimulating fear, sorrow and happiness to us. The most prominent and anticipated event was the “Fourth Industrial Revolution .a.k.a. A Digital Era” which is sparking innovation, driving economic growth and improving the quality of lives. Our First Industrial Revolution discovered the catalyst of production - Water and Steam Power. The Second used the potential of “Electric Power” to provide mass production. The Third led to the creation of “Information Technology”, “Electronics” and opened a new horizon of opportunities to explore for scientists, academics, businesses and governments. WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW? This era is characterised by unique technologies such as 3D Printing, Self-Driving Cars and connecting th...

YOUR HEART KNOWS THINGS THAT YOUR MIND CAN'T EXPLAIN

Hedonic adaptation is the observed tendency of humans to quickly return to a relatively stable level of happiness despite positive or negative events in life. Every day people are facing different stimulus.  For instance, you might have aced that test that you took last week or someone you loved passes away. The brain reacts to both these sensations differently - when you have done something that brings gratification brain starts to release more endorphins and dopamine-producing a feeling of delight. In contrast, when something traumatizing happens, the level of serotonin reduces leading to a miserable sensation  However, the emotional state will return to the optimal level of happiness regardless of the intensity of the positive and negative effect. This phenomenon is embedded in the human brain for its topmost survival during numerous seizing circumstances. Sometimes in life, your role of decisions making might seem very important, "if you screw it up everything will ...

DO BEAUTY CONTESTS SERVE A PURPOSE IN SOCIETY?

"Beauty attracts the eye but personality captures the heart". This is a well-known line which expresses the standard of beauty and personality. Yet many argue that beauty should be given the highest priority. This is why beauty contests have been running for decades. Some say beauty contests boost self-esteem and elevate socializing skills. Whereas many say that this is not the platform where women can express themselves at their utmost. So do the cons outweigh the pros? From the 2010s, many articles and reports were published to show the positive side of beauty contests. In 2015, a blog was published by Weebly stating the positive effects of Beauty Pageants. There were several examples mentioned in the blog like: it encourages growth in confidence, outgoing personality and creates a strong self-image. Due to articles like these, many changed their views on beauty pageants. A lot also claimed that this was better than giving public talks or speeches. Furthermore, several re...
