INTO THE BOOK - " THE CATCHER IN THE RYE" by J.D. SALINGER

The Catcher in the Rye has been a recent read, making it to my top favourites. The Catcher in the Rye was first published on the 16th of July 1951, making it indispensable in 20th-century literature. The story involves the ideas of teenage rebellion and the pains of growing up, however, this book can connect with the readers regardless of the differences in the timeline.  The main protagonist Holden Caulfield who is also the narrator describes variegated events happening in his life taking place over two day period. Caulfield is sixteen years old and gets expelled from Pencey prep school in Agerstown, Pennsylvania. Implicit details for the character show that there is an abyss of sadness and constant changes in moods, at the end his feelings cause him to be in tears. There are numerous times in the book where Holden states that he is depressed proving the inner feelings that affect him. The character shows a lack of academic sincerity leading him to fail in classes and get expelled...

DIGESTIVE INSIGHTS FROM: How to Win Friends and Influence People

“If You Want to Gather Honey, Don’t Kick Over the Beehive”. Life is an explicatory peregrination, that is filled with fragments of emotions like joy, love, sadness that is combined with the deeds that we do. But we as humans are travelling in the dimension of time that is ephemeral. But one day when you look back, it needs to be filled with memories that you adore and the same deeds that have caused an impact. Let’s look at the insight of Chapter One of Part One. Looking at humans were created with an inbuilt tendency to blame others but not “thyself”. Not taking the blame or accepting one’s fault, is the same characteristic present in all hardcore criminals like Al Capone, Crowley and Albert Fall are examples given in the book. To understand criticism more profoundly, think about them as horning pigeons that return to you no matter what. We all expect things from certain people that can be better work output, friendship or love. Before you want to see any change from someone else...

Part 2 of the digestive insights: Make time for traction from INDISTRACTABLE BY NIR EYAL

Traction is getting pulled to something. This is what we want when we are scheduling time for ourselves it draws you towards what you want in life. There is a very common question stating that why do we have to schedule? Firstly, life consists of numerous things that demand your time, you are in control of your time. A person can choose to go with their flow and do whatever comes to their mind, when they are doing that there are high chances that they might get distracted. Because the human brain does not look from the long term perspectives that are comparatively more important than short term goals. What does this mean? Short term goals are mainly instant gratification such as the feeling you get when you receive the text message that you have been waiting for. These might seem fulfilling for few seconds as a consequence of giving in to temptation, all of us fall into the trap of distraction. Which you would have understood by now because it is the opposite of traction, something tha...

START WITH WHY?? What do you mean by starting with why? These were the rhetorical questions recurring in my mind before I read this amazing and inspiring book. Simon Sinek; a well-established author and an inspirational speaker describes in his own charismatic words how great leaders inspire action and repeat their success again and again!! THE IMPACT OF GOLDEN CIRCLE The golden circle is a practical guide which improves leadership, builds a loyal group and incorporates a vision for people. The author emphasises that our goals must start with “ WHY” and not begin with “ WHAT” . WHY - What is your ...
