A leader with zealous and diligence

Nelson Mandela a robust protagonist figure who was extremely heroic in being an exemplary leader, in his lifetime he fought against severe racial segregation(antagonist) this was called the Apartheid Era- a political and social system that was formed by the minority of the white rule, however, the period existed between the year 1948 to the Early 1990s. His leadership qualities had a manifesting charisma that attracted more people, which eventually led to his greater success. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was born on 18 of July in 1918 to the Thembu royal family in Mvezo which was located in the Union of South Africa. He had a family of thirteen siblings in a very competitive environment. In his autobiography called the Long Walk to Freedom which was published in the year, 1994 states that he spent his free time playing in the veld and fighting with other boys in the village, and much more about the childhood games which relatively improved his competitiveness from a young age. Nelson Mandela served as the President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was the first black President as he came into power he removed the Apartheid System and introduced multiracial democracy.

Mandela had powerful perseverance and exuberant energy to get freedom for his people and prevent racial segregation. He did not give up or eliminate his only goal regardless of how much oppression he faced from various sides. His never-ending energy gave his people more hope and inspiration from him. As a young boy, Nelson loved the African History and deep inside he knew the potential assets that he required and kept on working for it. Every leader has a strong charisma for Nelson Mandela it was being able to empathise and understand the pain the others are going through not only that but also being able to self-sacrifice which was one of the main factors that led to the fulfilment of his vision which was freedom and equality for all.

Obtaining inspiration and learning from other various leaders plays a major role in growing yourself as a leader, hence improving your qualities and especially in leading. Nelson Mandela got inspired by leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and adopted some principles from him. Not only that but his autobiography was adapted from Jawaharlal Nehru. Some of the talents that made Mandela’s leadership firmer and concrete consisted of having the fluency in communication which enabled him to explain his vision more precisely.

Nelson Mandela's real name was “Rolihlahla '' this translates to trouble maker, even in many circumstances he was called the “Political Troublemaker”, however, Mandela grew as a leader at every part of his life sculpting himself to be a better one. Mandela's ability to change and adapt himself as a leader is one of the salient characters that everyone needs to learn. At the initial stages, Mandela was a man of violence who aggressively wanted to make South Africa free from racial segregation later he understood that violence is not the key and strongly defenestrated it. Mandela spent 27 years in jail for various acts such as treason, illegally leaving the country and for sabotaging. This period Mandela used as an advantage for sculpting himself as a better leader and understood that violence is not the key to freedom.

There was a well-structured leadership plan that was precisely executed by Mandela, this includes equivalently dividing the tasks into more of the cellular level. Nelson Mandela constructed a centralised leadership plan called the M-plan that took place in the year 1961 and 1962, where he made a framework for an enormous revolution by a multitude but the African National Congress(ANC) rejected this and caused some brutal actions such as assaults, ripping communities apart and so on, but he still continued which shows his attitude of never giving up or his enduring perseverance.

Some other notable characteristics of Nelson Mandela was his relations with other leaders which caused expansion and made his vision more prominent that made a huge impact but also caused the execution of vision easier. Leadership qualities of Nelson Mandela roots back when he was at his University where he developed strong amities with his friends and embraced some of the qualities from them. Mandela was highly diplomatic, he made foreign affairs with various countries in Asia and also connected with various leaders such as Bill Clinton. Mandela continually proved himself as a great leader in many circumstances but the main striking moves done by Nelson Mandela would include- in the year 1985 he rejected an offer given by the Former Prime Minister of South Africa who said freedom will be provided if there is allowance of violence and other illegal activity. Later on, Botha tried to blame it all on Nelson Mandela. In the year 1993 before becoming the President of South Africa a famous black leader who was fighting for equality was martyred however this caused a massive amount of people involving in protest and some vandalizing actions- such as looting and so on, but Nelson Mandela approached the people and told them to stop continuing the acts and stated to get united to achieve victory. Later Mandela in the year 1994 he refused to stand for second term elections because he considered that his vision was achieved(this shows one of the most remarkable aspects of a leader which is to create other leaders hence forming a legacy without any other self-motives).

During the last days of his life he revealed another prominent quality a leader requires, it was his generosity. Mandela donated about a third of his wealth to the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund that organisation was founded in the year 1995. This organization focuses on shaping tomorrow's generations and gives the ability to voice up and live an equal and sustainable life.

Nelson Rohilall Mandela passed away on the 5th of December in the year 2013 due to respiratory disease. He has always been an inspiration for everyone in terms of his powerful leadership, but by doing this essay I have obtained a lot of knowledge in the aspect of leadership and have inspired me to be a better person to make changes that should ultimately help people who are in need for a desperate change in this world.

TRUE LOVE – A MYTH OR REALITY?

In my previous article, I talked about how love is beyond logic and it deserves our focus and attention throughout our life inevitably.  Now, I am beginning with a new topic directed towards Love and this time, it’s about first-love, soulmates, love at first sight and intriguing parts of life which endures our thirst for conversations and relationships which enables us to move forward in life and create a better version of us during the process. Why do people care for their first love or relationship so much more than their successors? Personally, first love is equivalent to any initial experience we have in our life such as, a picnic in a vibrant lakeside garden surrounded by family or your first ever thrilling adventure with friends. Our first love becomes extremely significant, memorable and impassioned as it teaches us how to love a person other than you are obliged to do, such as your parents or relatives. You display your complete passion for the person irrespective of thei...

LOVE IS BEYOND LOGIC...

LOVE IS BEYOND LOGIC… Love is an intriguing theme discussed by us in our daily life. It is surrounded by us and waiting for people to approach us with their feelings to showcase their support in the form of only one global emotion – LOVE. It could be the love of our friends, family or partners who wish to get attached with us and make our days special and enduring through challenges.  Let’s address the elephant in this article, “ WHY IS LOVE BEYOND LOGIC?”. I am certain there are people who are completely unequivocal about love being “ just scientific and it’s all in our brain”. I agree there is a scientific explanation behind our lust, desire and attraction, but the intention to make others happy and content in all our relationships even through the hard times is beyond logic and pragmatism.  “Love is merely a flow of energy, it connects and transforms us according to our needs and stays in us throughout the function of our life. It can neither be created nor destroyed...

DILIGENCE OR INTELLIGENCE ?

Ever wondered if you are an intelligent person or a hard-working one? There's nothing wrong with being either of them. Let me tell you that an intelligent person in simple terms would mean a person who has the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. A diligent person would mean a hard worker. Now, which one are you? Are you the first one or the second one? Let’s analyze both and see which one we should be. Intelligence can be put into numerous ways : the capacity for abstraction, logic, understanding, self-awareness, learning, reasoning, planning, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving etc. Sounds big I know. All of us would think, “ oh you are so lucky to have this much capacity! ”. Well let me tell you one thing, hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. What this means is if you do not put effort or don’t use your capacity, you cannot go further. So use what you have and make the most of it. I’m sure all of us would now have an idea of what a...
